The Need to Say Goodbye

The losses of a parent, spouse or child is something no one wants to experience.  Yet Kristyn Kellerman knew them all. By 1979 Kristyn is thirty-six years old, a single mother needing to face her past.  She returns to Monaloha, her friend’s estate in Hawaii.  Here she finds herself falling in love with James. Drawn together they desperately want to be with each other, but Kristyn has haunting doubts that result in an unwanted distance between them.

Kristyn, a Navy research scientist, served in Vietnam as part of a special task force. After her tour, Kris and her partner designed a mini nuclear sub for deep marine geological exploration. With this success also came tragedy, nightmares, and blackouts.

Her mind never stops thinking, except for burying the hurt from loss.  Up until now Kris ran from each new hurt, moving on from place to place, putting it out of thought. Now in Hawaii, she wants to stop running and deal with the past, to say good bye to lost ones. She wants a life with James but fears it at the same time.
